Summary of what was discussed during the monthly LAWTE Leadership Meetings.

LAWTE Leadership Meeting 2/21/2025

The organization discussed updating its bylaws, focusing on the Executive Committee structure and roles, and the possibility of limiting recurring terms for certain positions.

They also reviewed the bylaws revision process, the frequency of meetings, voting procedures, and the potential for holding the general membership meeting outside of the AALAS conference.

Additionally, they discussed the organization's finances, upcoming events, conference planning, and the implementation of a new system for managing email lists. Additional information is available upon request.

LAWTE Leadership Meeting 3/21/2025

The committee discussed various aspects of conference planning, including registration information, committee roles, swag bag creation, and website updates.

They also addressed the need for more poster submissions for the conference and the possibility of having a Webmaster on the Publicity committee for major website updates.

Additionally, they discussed adding a page on the conference page for general information such as airport selection, arrival time, etc.

LAWTE Leadership Meeting 4/18/2025

The team discussed the Biennial Conference in more detail including extending the registration period, budget concerns, and the need for more assertive communication with speakers and attendees.

They also addressed logistical issues such as hotel registration, speaker spotlight updates, backup plans for Zoom meetings, and the upcoming need for finalizing the menu.

Lastly, they discussed conference attendance numbers, local arrangements, vendor placement, and conference logistics, including attendee badges and gamification.

The meeting focused on addressing various membership-related issues and discussing updates to the organization's bylaws, including changes to committees and leadership terms. Financial discussions centered around event expenses and budget considerations, with the team planning to dip into their budget to cover certain costs while exploring ways to control expenses like adding a happy hour.

The group also covered logistics for an upcoming event, including early check-in arrangements, platform setup, and registration issues, while discussing preparations for an upcoming conference including swag needs, booth setup, and education sessions.
